South Tahoe Action Team graduates honored at meeting

A new group of local volunteers graduated from the South Tahoe Action Team (STAT) program during Tuesday's South Lake Tahoe City Council meeting.

There were 16 citizens participate in this session of the STAT training.

This program is for community members to be trained by the South Lake Tahoe Fire Department as responders during times of crisis. Curriculum includes eight hours of instruction taught by members of the South Lake Tahoe Fire Department. Graduates may be called upon in times of natural disaster, large scale emergencies and times of need in the South Lake Tahoe area. The curriculum also instructs STAT team members of the Incident Command structure, emergency first aid, lifting/moving techniques, use of extinguishers, flood safety and building collapse.

STAT participants for this session are; Aimee Treutlein, Anita Limbird, Daniel Armijo III, Daniel Zwicker, Danielle Soto, Desiree Wright, Don Havard, Eric Gatien, Jonathan Pulido, Linda Callahan, Mark Ford, Mark Peterson, Michael Reed, Nick Rury, Norma Severloh and Wanda Mackey.

“The STAT program is designed to have neighbors helping neighbors,” said Acting City Manager Jeff Meston.
