American Legion Post 795 holding St. Patrick’s Day dinner

South Lake Tahoe, Calif. - The American Legion Post 795 of South Lake Tahoe is inviting locals and visitors to join members of the American Legion and the Ladies Auxiliary for a St. Patrick’s Day dinner on Friday, March 17, 2017. Food will be served beginning at 5:00 p.m. and the cost is $10. Door prizes will be given away during the evening. Pre-sale tickets are available, but tickets may also be purchased at the door. Food “To Go” will also be available.
The American Legion Hall is located at 2748 Lake Tahoe Boulevard in South Lake Tahoe.
St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated on March 17 to honor the patron saint of Ireland, with a feast to commemorate the anniversary of his death in the fifth century. People in Ireland have been observing St. Patrick’s Day since 10th century, but the first parade held to honor St. Patrick took place in New York City on March 17, 1762.
