Full slate of South Lake Tahoe activities to enjoy as we say goodbye to 2017

Hard Rock Lake Tahoe has two ways to enjoy the evening:

Starting at 9:00 p.m., enjoy live music by DJ Rizzo until the ball drops with people of all age at their Light Up The Plaza in front of the casino. This is a free event, but you can purchase an LED wristband that syncs with the music for $10 from Party HQ.

Beginning at 8:30 p.m., party on the Patio at Hard Rock Hotel Lake Tahoe, Includes VIP access to Alpine Union Patio next to the fire pits, an LED wristband that syncs with the music, and a complimentary drink and Champagne toast. Buy tickets here.

New Year's Eve in the Heavenly Village has something going on for all ages, culminating with a Gondola Drop and fireworks at 9:00 p.m. It all starts at 7:00 p.m.: Event Begins with Gen8 Band Opening, 7:45 p.m.: Ice Beat Factory Performance, 8:00 p.m.: Gen8 Band, 8:45 p.m.: Ice Beat Factory, 9:00 p.m.: Gondola Drop with fireworks, 9:05 p.m.: Gen8 Final Set, 10:00 p.m.: Event Ends.

Also at Heavenly Village is The Loft's NYE party from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. exclusive VIP New Year’s Eve celebration to welcome in 2018. The soiree features the following: Passed plate heavy hors d'oeuvres, complimentary well-drinks, wine, and beer from 8:00p-10:00p, then full-bar, Champagne toast at midnight, Decorations, Party Favors/Noise Makers/Confetti, DJ/Emcee (Music: chill/deep house early, to fun high-energy top-40 dance music, R&B, and classic dance floor favorites). Lake Tahoe AleWorX hosts its first New Year’s Eve party at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 31. The Roaring ‘20s Prohibition Party includes a live performance from We The Folk, and attendees who show up in ‘20s attire (think flappers and gangsters) receive a free pint of the brewery’s Cali Common. Celebrate and ring in the New Year with Lake Tahoe Cruises aboard the M.S. Dixie II on New Year's Eve from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The New Year’s Eve Cruise includes an exquisite dinner, great live music, dancing and special celebrations! Adults $160 and Children 11 years and younger $75. Tickets.

There will be a midnight fireworks show at Edgewood Tahoe during their New Year's Eve Celebration. Ring in 2018 at Lake Tahoe's premier New Year's Eve event in their iconic mountain chalet clubhouse. Bring in the Brew year with the locals at South Lake Brewing Company located at 1920 Lake Tahoe Blvd. South Lake Tahoe, Calif. Limited tickets at the door for $20, $15 for locals. Appetizers, special beer release and music. 8:00 a.m.to 1:00 a.m. Dancing through the Decades (Decade Costumes Encouraged), DJ, Lighting & Sound Powered by Amplified Entertainment. Three New Year's Eve parties with one all-access price at the New Year's Eve Celebration at MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa. Doors open at 8:00 PM. Featuring over 6,700-square-feet of optimal nightlife and live entertainment space, PEEK's new footprint includes 40 intimate VIP sections, including some of today's most highly touted nightclub amenities.

Highway 50 will close at the state line close to midnight and throngs of revelers will be allowed on the roadway to ring in the new year. Closure times depend on number of people in the area, but closures could be expected between 10:00 p.m. and 12:30 a.m.

On New Year's Day, enjoy a build your own omelet station with a mimosa...just $15. They are located at the Lake Tahoe Airport. It starts at 9:00 a.m....great place to eat, and visitors can make it their stop as they head home on Highway 50.
