A South Lake Tahoe man was bit by a dog on Sunday while walking near Washington Avenue and Tahoe Keys Blvd. At about 6 p.m., the unidentified man encountered a dog roaming in the neighborhood and was bit as he attempted to read the dog's tags.
The dog is described as a husky type dog with grey and white fluffy fur, wearing a blue collar and tags.
The man was treated and released from medical care but will have to undergo post exposure rabies treatments if authorities cannot verify that the dog is current on its rabies vaccines.
Anyone with information can contact Animal Services at (530) 573-7925.
