Snow Falls in South Lake Tahoe; Another System Arrives Monday

The winter of 2013-14 may be soon known as the "better late than never" winter. With very few days filled with snow since January, this past week's storm, and the arrival of a new storm next week my be what skiers and boarders have been waiting for. Every bit of snow helps with the summer water supply as well.

Just in time for many schools' spring break, local ski areas are reporting lots of fresh new snow. Heavenly reported 10" new in last 24 hours, 19" new in last week. Sierra at Tahoe got 16" of new last night with 40" from this past storm. Kirkwood is reporting 1-18" overnight and 29-41" from the storm.
