TODAY’S WEATHER (NWS GREATER LAKE TAHOE AREA): Sunny in the morning then becoming Partly Cloudy. Highs: 28F to 33F. Light winds.
TONIGHT: Cloudy. Slight chance of snow after midnight. Lows: 17F to 27F. South winds up to 10 mph. Ridge gusts up to 50 mph increasing to 65 mph after midnight.
SATURDAY: Snow in the morning, then snow and rain in the afternoon. Snow level rising to 6500 feet. Snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches… with 6 to 12 inches above 7500 feet. Highs: 34F to 39F. South winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. Ridge gusts up to 90 mph increasing to 115 mph in the afternoon

TIMING: SNOW WILL BEGIN SATURDAY MORNING AND CONTINUE THROUGH THE DAY. SNOW WILL THEN CHANGE TO RAIN SATURDAY AFTERNOON OR EVENING BELOW 7500 FEET.
SNOW ACCUMULATIONS THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING: BELOW 7500 FEET…4 TO 8 INCHES. ABOVE 7500 FEET… 6 TO 14 INCHES.
SNOW LEVELS: NEAR ALL VALLEYS SATURDAY MORNING, THEN RISING ABOVE 7500 FEET BY SATURDAY EVENING.
IMPACTS: SLICK AND HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS ACROSS THE TAHOE BASIN AND ALL MAJOR HIGHWAYS INCLUDING INTERSTATE 80 AND HIGHWAY 50.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
EVEN LIGHT SNOWFALL CAUSES MAJOR TRAVEL DELAYS, ESPECIALLY DURING PERIODS OF HIGH TRAFFIC VOLUME. BE SURE TO ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO REACH YOUR DESTINATION. LEAVE EXTRA SPACE BETWEEN VEHICLES SINCE IT TAKES LONGER TO STOP ON SLICK ROADWAYS.

WHAT TO WEAR: Dress warm, in layers with your Gore-Tex Storm Jacket with Hood. Take a hat or beanie and wear a Helmet for Safety. Also wear Rose or Orange tinted
Goggles and warm gore-tex lined gloves. Don’t forget to use Sunscreen & Chapstick when the sun is out and Stay Hydrated at altitude!
SURFACE CONDITIONS: Surface Conditions are Variable with Powder over Machine Groomed & Skier-Rider Packed Snow and Some Areas of Firm Packed Snow under top groomed surfaces.
SAFETY MESSAGE: Stay on designated Opened Trails only. Keep an eye out for marked and unmarked obstacles. Slow Down and observe safety signs on trails with high concentration of skiers and riders… Know the Code! Do not Ski or Ride above your ability level… Always stay in control. Be able to avoid objects and people in your Path! Please stop to side of the run where it is safe and always check uphill for skiers and riders before restarting down hill. Access from California Base & Gondola-WWP; Plus Stagecoach & Boulder Lodge on the Nevada Side. 13 Lifts & Tows are scheduled to operate on the California Side & 13 Lifts & Tows in Nevada. 89 Trails are scheduled to open (34MG)… Plus, Groove & Comet T-Parks.
