Dr. Amanda Weavil voted Barton's Doctor of the Year

Amanda Weavil, MD collected her third victory this month when she was voted Barton Health’s 2016 Doctor of the Year.

Dr. Weavil is a board-certified OB-GYN for Barton Women’s Health. In early March, she won the Dancing with the Tahoe Stars competition and received the people’s choice award. Now, in honor of national Doctors Day, Barton Health physicians and staff voted Weavil as their favorite physician.

“I'm surprised and overwhelmed by this honor,” said Dr. Weavil. “I love being an OBGYN, and I especially love being one at Barton Health and caring for the South Lake Tahoe community.”

Dr. Weavil was recognized as the Doctor of the Year across departments. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Rhonda Sneeringer gave a short presentation on March 30 and shared some of the praises written on the ballot. One person stated Dr. Weavil is “compassionate, attentive, and engaged” and “goes above and beyond in her patient care.” Several colleagues referred to Dr. Weavil’s “friendly face” and many described her as caring, hardworking, and highly skilled.
