Sunny start to the week in South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Beautiful weekend in South Lake Tahoe, and more of the same will go into the next few days with some change by the end of the week.

Much warmer temperatures are expected through next week with mainly dry conditions. A wave passing to the north Sunday will bring increased afternoon and evening winds. There is low pressure developing off the California coast will bring increasing chances for showers and a few thunderstorms from mid week into the weekend.

The forecast from the National Weather Service in Reno:

Today - Sunny, with a high near 65. Light southwest wind becoming west 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Tonight - Mostly clear, with a low around 32. West wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Monday - Sunny, with a high near 66. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Monday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 34. North wind around 5 mph becoming east in the evening.

Tuesday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 66. East wind around 5 mph.

Tuesday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 38.

Wednesday - A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Mostly
sunny, with a high near 68.

Wednesday Night- A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 38.

Thursday - A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 67.
