The Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District recently held a recognition and promotional ceremony at MontBleu Resort.
Fourteen firefighters were recognized with service awards, including 20 year veterans Battalion Chief Jim Antti and Captain Chuck Salerno.
“Fire Chief Ben Sharit challenged 20 new firefighters and staff members to continue the important work we do every day in our community,” says Eric Guevin, Fire Marshal spokesperson for the Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District.
“The Fire District has been very busy with training these probationary firefighters and it was time to pause to recognize their success, to acknowledge the promotions of 19 district employees and to reflect on the progress TDFPD has made as an organization towards our goals to protect and serve our community.” said Ben Sharit, Fire Chief.
The Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District is an “All Risk” Department providing fire prevention, fire suppression, advanced life support, explosive ordinance disposal, forest fuels management and emergency rescue. The dedicated professionals respond to 2,000 emergency calls annually.
