Revive Interior Design opens in Lake Tahoe

Interior designer, Jessie Marchesseau, recently opened Revive Interior Design – a full-service interior design and home staging firm that serves communities in the Lake Tahoe Basin. Marchesseau, originally from Montana, has lived in the Lake Tahoe region for more than 15 years and has worked in local interior design and real estate industries for more than a decade. In addition to being a Tahoe local, Marchesseau has sold and designed homes in both California and Nevada, and understands the complexities of mountain and lake living.
“When you live in an active community like ours, we want our homes to do more than just look extraordinary, we need them to function well for our lifestyles,” Marchesseau said. “That could mean a great mudroom complete with ski racks and boot dryers, or an indoor/outdoor space for entertaining on warm summer evenings. Interior design isn’t just about how your home looks, it’s about how you live.”
Revive Interior Design offers full-service design and flat-rate consultation packages as well as real estate staging services. By working with companies such as Hunter Douglas, Carole Fabrics and Four Hands Furniture, Revive has access to affordable and quality furnishings, lighting, fabrics and window coverings. The company also works with advanced design and project management applications to assist with visualizing designs and keeping clients informed on the progress of their projects.
“I try to take a modern approach to the design process, but that doesn’t mean the client needs to be ‘techy.’ It should really just make things easier for them; I’ll take care of the complicated stuff,” Marchesseau said.
In a land of forest, lakes and magical views, and an economy which depends on tourists, Marchesseau’s determination to live and work in Lake Tahoe has never wavered. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in interior design and a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from the University of Nevada, Reno and is a member of the American Society of Interior Designers.
Marchesseau’s written and produced for area news outlets which have allowed her to participate in ski excursions at every resort in and around the basin, sit-downs with celebrity chefs and one-on-ones with professional and Olympic athletes.
“I still love writing, and it supplemented my income while I gained experience in interior design,” she said. “When I wasn’t giving ski lessons, working in real estate, bartending, or writing, I was taking design jobs whenever possible. Opening Revive Interior Design has been my dream for a long time.”
If she’s not spending her free time refurbishing her own furniture or designing for family and friends, she’s spending time with her husband, Nate Stone and their three dogs. Stone is a helicopter ski & snowboard guide at Points North Heli Adventures, Inc. and they were married last year.
“Our adventures have taken us to many different places around the world, and I‘ve been fortunate to bring some of that art and life back to my design practice and apply it in ways I never thought possible,” Marchesseau said. “Lake Tahoe is filled with all kinds of people from diverse backgrounds and it’s important to understand culture and tradition in many families — especially when it comes to the design of a home.”
“Ultimately, my role is to understand the client’s needs and vision and provide an overall enjoyable design experience resulting in a beautiful home that meets their vision, lifestyle and culture.”
