Open Houses and hearings set for Lake Tahoe agency's Regional Plan Update

Transitioning to more permitting by local governments to create one-stop-shop for homeowner improvements in order to return TRPA to the more regional role that the Compact originally intended.
Creating walkable communities and increasing alternative transportation options.
The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency has scheduled a series of open houses and public hearings to give the public an opportunity to provide input on the draft Regional Plan Update and Regional Transportation Plan, as well as the environmental documents that were released at last month’s Governing Board meetings.
“How do we restore Lake Tahoe and create more walkable, bikeable communities?” asked Joanne Marchetta, TRPA’s Executive Director. “Answering this question is a key focus of the Regional Plan Update and Regional Transportation Plan. We are currently in the comment period for the environmental impact statements and we hope you will let your voices be heard,” she said.
Priorities for the Regional Plan Update are:

May 21, 2012 – 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Open House on the Regional Transportation Plan and Regional Plan, The Chateau, 955 Fairway Boulevard, Incline Village, NV.
May 22, 2012 – 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Open House on the Regional Transportation Plan and Regional Plan, TRPA Office Board Rooms, 128 Market Street, Stateline, NV.
May 23, 2012 – 9:30 a.m. TRPA Governing Board meeting public hearings, North Tahoe Events Center, 8318 North Lake Boulevard, Kings Beach, CA.
May 24, 2012 – 9:30 a.m. TRPA Governing Board meeting public hearings, TRPA Office Board Rooms, 128 Market Street, Stateline, NV.
June 11, 2012 – 9:30 a.m. Advisory Planning Commission public hearings, TRPA Office Board Rooms, 128 Market Street, Stateline, NV.
June 27, 2012 – 9:30 a.m. TRPA Governing Board public hearings, North Tahoe Events Center, 8318 North Lake Boulevard, Kings Beach, CA.
June 28, 2012 – 9:30 a.m. TRPA Governing Board public hearings, TRPA Office Board Rooms, 128 Market Street, Stateline, NV.
The public comment period runs through June 28 for the environmental impact statements for the draft Regional Plan Update and Regional Transportation Plan. Members of the public can also send their comments to regionalplancomments@trpa.org or to mobility2035comments@trpa.org for the Regional Transportation Plan.
