SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A candlelight vigil in honor of George Floyd is planned for Saturday, May 30 at Lakeview Commons in South Lake Tahoe from 8:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.
Organizers, the I Run With Maud group of South Lake Tahoe, are asking those who plan on attending to wear a mask and stay 6-12 feet away from each other. Signs are also encouraged: #BlackLivesMatter #iRunWithMaud #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd #iCantBreathe.
Floyd died after a Minneapolis police officer put his knee to Floyd's neck for almost nine minutes on May 25.
The group recently held a #IRunWithMaud run in honor of Ahmaud Arbery, who on February 23, 2020 was chased and killed by a father and son after they though Arbery “looked suspicious” because he was “running” down the street.
