Lake Tahoe 4WD Club holding annual Meet & Greet on Saturday

Event Date:
June 3, 2017 - 9:00am

Learn about four wheel driving around the Lake Tahoe Basin during the Lake Tahoe Hi-Lo’s 4WD Club meet and greet membership drive on Saturday, June 3 in the TJMax parking lot at the Y in South Lake Tahoe from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The non-profit club has been in Lake Tahoe for 50 years. They promote family recreation, social activities, enjoyment and protection of natural resources. The club has been a member for 50 years of California Four Wheel Association which is a state wide organization of California four wheel drive clubs and Gary Lefler is the local club's current president

They meet the 4th Tuesday of each month at Round Table Pizza Parlor at the Y in South Lake Tahoe from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The meeting is always open to the public as are all of their club outings. Families coming to the Tahoe basin to enjoy “wheeling” in a safe and supportive manner are welcome to participate.

More information on the club can be found at a href="https://www.laketahoehilos.com/">www.laketahoehilos.com . The site lists their community involvement which includes annual financial assistance to Sober Grad Night, trail maintenance for the Twin Peaks trail near Sawmill Pond in South Lake Tahoe and the Long Lakes Trail off of the famous Rubicon Trail in the Tahoe Basin. The club also has the only mobile “cook shack” in South Lake Tahoe. Other non-profits like the Elks club borrow it throughout the year to cook food for their events.

The Meet & Greet this weekend is to solicit for new members who want to contribute to safe and responsible wheeling in our area and socialize with other 4WD enthusiasts. Rigs of all types and vehicle manufactures will be present. We are not a Toyota or Jeep club, we are a 4WD club and members have all kinds of 4WD vehicles.

On Saturday, stop by and "kick the tires of the rigs," ask questions about wheeling in the area and find out what it takes to get a rig ready to do hard core Rubicon Trail.

The Hi-Lo club believes in responsible use and protection of public lands.
