I happen to enjoy meeting and wishing all a GOOD DAY! Most persons are at Grocery Outlet to shop for food and did not come primarily to discuss politics. I don't push or obstruct a person's comings and goings. I can read from the body language, like when they turn their face to look in the opposite direction or go to the other side of the entry to obviously avoid

Emanate Gallery os South Lake Tahoe is welcoming local artist Shelley Zentner, and her Art of Ashtanga collection with a meet and greet on Saturday, September 5.
Zenter's collection features stunning original figure drawings of yoga poses captured in charcoal.
There will be an in-person event at the gallery from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and a virtual tour via Facebook Live from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (see here).
The gallery is located in the Crossing at Tahoe Valley, 2030 Lake Tahoe Blvd.
SROs on campus in South Lake Tahoe: More than a police officer

The word "resource" gives one an insight into their position - a resource for the students, and not only at school. A resource for the parents. A resource for the school district. A resource for the school.
And the job doesn't end there.
Final four South Lake Tahoe city manager candidates from California and Florida

City Council has narrowed down their search to four men, all of whom will be at a public Meet and Greet on Monday, March 9 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Idle Hour located at 3351 Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe.
The idea behind the meet and greet is to give the public a chance to get to know the candidates before the City Council closed session scheduled for Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. to select the new city manager.

Founded in 1890, the Daughters of the American Revolution is a non-profit, non-political women's service organization for women ages 18 and over who descend from American Revolutionary War ancestors.

New Lake Tahoe Unified School District superintendent is Whittell High graduate

During their closed session meeting Saturday, the Board of Trustees decided to reveal their announcement ahead of the previously announced March 10 date. His contract has now been finalized and he will start work at the end of the school year.
Law enforcement spends the day reading with kids and giving away gifts in South Lake Tahoe

On Saturday, December 21, the deputies and officers collaborated to provide a book reading, meet and greet with Santa and gift-giving to the children of South Lake Tahoe. The kids thought they were coming for the popular SLTPD Books & Badges and were treated to a BIG surprise.

Daniel Knight of Dayton, Nev., the assistant manager of Save Mart in Carson City came to town to join Stetina. Chadwick Clark of South Lake Tahoe, the chef at Camp Galilee in Glenbrook, also joined in. Both ride their bikes to work when weather allows.

Until 2:00 p.m., Ronald will be there to greet customers and pose for photos (and selfies too).
Robert Humason, owner of both South Lake Tahoe McDonald's restaurants, is celebrating his 17th year of business in the community. He and his son Chad were at the Y store with Ronald Saturday to meet and greet customers and present a check to the Ronald McDonald House for $9,000.
Family made homeless by hurricanes looking for home for their dogs
Submitted by paula on Tue, 09/26/2017 - 7:31pmAs we watched the horrific images out of the islands of the Caribbean after the one-two punch of Hurricanes Irma and Maria, we saw people wading through waist-deep water to get to safety, with no homes or belongings to go back to.
Two of those residents who lost their home in St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands are on a road trip and currently in Lake Tahoe. "We needed to get to nature," Lissa Ress explained about how they ended up in the Sierra.

The Venerable Geshe Lobsang Tsultrim, a Tibetan Buddhist monk of the Gelug order, will be in South Lake Tahoe as part of The Loft's speaker series on Tuesday, September 26, 2017.
Geshe-la trained in philosophy and sacred art at Gaden Shartse Monastic University in Southern India and for many years toured the world as sand mandala master for the Sacred Arts of Tibet tours. He currently lives in Auburn, Calif.
The evening's schedule includes an optional dinner, meet and greet, and teaching session.

Students greeted their guests with a handshake and a warm hello, something Principal Holly Greenough hopes gives her students a good introduction to community leaders who could possibly be their future employers.

Tahoe Valley red carpet greeting; Community meets Mt. Tallac students

At Tahoe Valley Elementary, not only were the doors opened, but the red carpet was rolled out, literally. Staff and members of the California Highway Patrol greeted students as they entered the school with fanfare and balloon in celebration of their return.
Not only did the students enjoy the processional, but parents, staff and officers did as well.

Not only do people around South Lake Tahoe get the opportunity to watch international stars of men's cycling on Thursday, they also get to watch the women as the Amgen Tour of California features both races.
There will be a Lifestyle Festival in the parking lot at Heavenly California Base Lodge from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This is the starting and ending point for the women's race, as well as the finish for the men, so a great viewing spot, but there are other opportunities to watch the cyclists as they zip by all through town.

The club is using this introductory meeting to expand their adult and junior programs, as well as their recreational crew. No experience is necessary and everyone age 8 and over is welcome.

Mt. Tallac High School celebrates with community barbecue

"I thought maybe five or six parents would come for our first year," said Greenough, the school's Director. Instead, 21 families and ten community members/groups participated.
"The kids were excited to bring their parents, and the parents were grateful," said Greenough.

The dynamic duo team of Holly Greenough and Amy Jackson are beginning Phase Two of what they started last year, a program that takes students from school to career. The students that attend Mt. Tallac are the ones that stay in town, unlike others who take the college path and leave town and start a career and families elsewhere.

The All Class Reunion held a meet and greet on Friday evening at Mo's, followed by a football game at the high school. The Class of 1964 started the reunion celebrations with their 50th Reunion dinner Thursday night at Tep's Villa Roma.
On Saturday, September 13 there is a breakfast followed by a tour of South Tahoe High at 1:30 p.m. Meet at the Student Union.
Dinner and Dance Saturday night back at Mo's Place at the Super 8 Motel. The evening gets under way at 4 p.m.

Olympic Heritage Week Begins in Lake Tahoe

The biathlon and cross country events were held in what is now Sugar Pine Point State Park. A celebration of the area's snow heritage begins Saturday with a series of events to showcase makes the region so special.

In partnership with Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort and the Lake Tahoe Unified School District, Anderson will sponsor four young, middle school students from her hometown this winter season with a “surprise sponsorship".

The event is the State of the South Shore Economy Public Forum at the Embassy Suites from 5 to 9 p.m.

Steamers Bar and Grill in South Lake Tahoe will host lunch, dinner and a City Council Candidate's Meet and Greet from 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 23. Steamers is located at 2236 Lake Tahoe Blvd. near Tahoe Keys Blvd.
