Tracy man held on $1.5M bail after being arrested in South Lake Tahoe

A 27-year-old man from Tracy, California was arrested in South Lake Tahoe Sunday after a warrant had been issued for his arrest on a slew of charges stemming with his relationship with a 16-year-old girl.

Since his arrest, Omar Oceguera has been transferred from the El Dorado County Jail to the San Joaquin County Jail where his sits on a $1.515 million bail hold.

Oceguera and the teen left Tracy on June 18 after the teenager's parents contacted authorities after they found out Oceguera's real age according to South Lake Tahoe Police Lt. Shannon Laney. There was a large social media campaign in the Tracy area to alert the public of the teenager's disappearance. Tracy Police Department investigators had been searching for the pair and had evidence they were hiding out on the South Shore and contacted the South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD).

SLTPD Sgt. Travis Cabral located the two driving through South Lake Tahoe on July 2 and stopped them. Omar was arrested and the girl was returned to her parents.

Charges Oceguera is facing six felonies: Unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor under 18, Harmful matter sent to minor with sexual intent, Contact a minor with intent of sex, arrange a meeting with a minor, oral copulation of a person under 18, and sexual penetration with foreign object with victim under 18.
