Warm week ahead for South Lake Tahoe, chance of showers and thunderstorms

Smoke from the Detwiler Fire near Mariposa, Calif. is expected to be around for another day or two. Temperatures will be above average over the weekend, but no record breakers are expected.

Here is the weekly forecast from the National Weather Service in Reno:

Friday - Widespread haze. Areas of smoke. Sunny, with a high near 83. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph in the afternoon. Average is 80, record in 94.

Friday Night - Widespread haze before 11:00 p.m. Areas of smoke before 11:00 p.m. Mostly clear, with a low around 45. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Saturday - Sunny, with a high near 88. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph in the afternoon. Average is 80, record in 99.

Saturday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 50. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Sunday - Sunny, with a high near 88. Average is 80, record in 91.

Sunday Night - A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11:00 p.m. Mostly clear, with a low around 49.

Monday - A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11:00 a.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. Average is 80, record in 91.

Monday Night - A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11:00 p.m. Mostly clear, with a low around 47.
