After a nation-wide search, Barton Health is pleased to announce its new Chief Nursing Officer, Julie Clayton, RN, MSN, NEA-BC. A registered nurse with a Master of Science in Nursing, Ms. Clayton brings her expertise to Barton’s executive team from her most recent position as Vice President of Patient Care and Chief Nursing Officer at Overlake Medical Center in Bellevue, Wash.
“Ms. Clayton brings immense value to our organization with over two decades of experience,” said Dr. Clint Purvance, President and CEO of Barton Health. “We look forward to her joining our team of outstanding nurses, employees, and leaders as we all strive for excellence in both the workplace and the care we provide to our patients.”
Ms. Clayton worked as a nurse leader for over 20 years in the Bay Area. She and her husband, Kevin, a retired software executive, are both avid hikers. Ms. Clayton shares that they are looking forward to being closer to their four sons, all living in California and one of which resides in South Lake Tahoe and works for the U.S. Forest Service.
“Putting those we serve at the center of caring relationships allows us to care for their holistic needs with compassion, integrity, and evidenced-based practice,” said Ms. Clayton. “I look forward to joining the collaborative environment at Barton to provide high quality, innovative care that exceeds the expectations of patients, families and the community.”
When not providing leadership to healthcare systems, Ms. Clayton enjoys gardening, reading and exploring nature with her family and two Labrador retrievers.
