Wooden Boat Classic returns to the Tahoe Keys this weekend

Event Date:
July 29, 2016 (All day)

The South Tahoe Wooden Boat Classic returns to the Tahoe Keys Marina this weekend with a celebration of vintage raceboats. Featured will be industrialist Henry Kaiser, Jr.'s one-of-a-kind 1930 Gar Wood Hornet II and his 1955 Scooter Too with its huge and extremely rare 24-cylinder Allison engine. Both hydroplanes are racing legends. Also on display will be the 1913 Redskin, the 1950's movie star Hurricane IV and the all-aluminium experimental Shanty II.

That's just a taste of the racing history that will be exhibited July 29th and 30th at the marina. Tickets are $15 if purchased prior to the event on their website, or $22 at the gate on the day of the event. Tickets are good for both days.

The South Tahoe Wooden Boat Classic is presented by The Antique and Classic Boat Society, Inc. (ACBS) which is a 6,000+ member family international organization. Its mission is to bring together people with a common interest in historic, antique and classic boats for the purpose of sharing information, experiences and ideas.

Each year, the Antique & Classic Boat Society's Northern California/Lake Tahoe Chapter makes donations to deserving local charities. As a 501C3 organization, we are pleased to be able to make gifts to deserving charities that meet our charter's philosophy.
