A woman who walked off with another's purse at the Raley's Grocery Store in Gardnerville is being sought for questioning by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO).
On July 21 at approximately 2:00 p.m., a customer accidentally left her purse inside a cart at the cart storage area inside Raley's. Within an hour she remembers where the purse was left and returned to the store, only to find it missing.
Video surveillance was reviewed, and it showed the customer returning the cart, and leaving her purse in it. A minute later a female was seen taking the cart with the customer’s purse inside, manipulating the cart and then leaves the camera’s view, according to DCSO.
On 7-22-18 at around 11:00 a.m. the purse was recovered at Lampe Park with most of its contents but there was $228.00 in cash missing.
A reward is being offered to anyone with information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of the suspect. Your identity is not needed and you will remain anonymous. Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to call DCSO Dispatch at (775) 782-5126 or Douglas County Secret Witness at: 775-78-CRIME (775-782-7463) or DCSO Sgt. Hubkey (775)782-9905.
