SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Tahoe Heritage Foundation is holding their 33rd annual Great Gatsby Festival at the Tallac Historic Site on Saturday and Sunday, August 12 and 13.

Join them in the celebration of the rip roaring '20s with events including guided living history tours, vintage automobiles, historical talks, games, activities, food and drink, silent auction and raffle, merchandise to purchase and much more.

From 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, and 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, the free event will be open to the public.

During the Gatsby weekend will be the 2nd annual Boathouse Fundraiser on Saturday, August 12. Step back in time and relive the Tumultuous Twenties for an elegant reception followed by a concert featuring early jazz by Earles of Newtown in the Boathouse Theatre. The Valhalla Grand Raffle winners will be drawn. 1920s attire encouraged with costume prizes! The event will include a wine, beer, non-alcoholic beverages and elegant appetizer reception prior to the music. Cost is $50 and all starts at 6:30 p.m. Tickets available HERE.

This year there will be overflow parking at the Taylor Creek Visitor Center parking lot and the Sno-Park on Highway 89, with a shuttle taking visitors to and from Tallac Historic Site during the festival!

The original painting (photo shown in this story) will be auctioned off as part of the Gatsby Silent Auction, and printed posters will be available for sale at the Festival as well! "Arboretum Afternoon" was created on Tallac Historic Site grounds by a local artist, Talia Koval (website TaliaKoval.com). The figures in the painting are based on models, most of whom are Tahoe Heritage Foundation volunteers and staff.
