SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Residents in the Tahoe Keys are being asked to use only boiled tap water or bottled water for drinking and cooking purposes after an electrical failure at one of their wells (#3) Monday. The power failure led to a loss of water pressure.
The Tahoe Keys Property Owner Association's (TKPOA) said they emailed and hand delivered notices to residents to advise them of the boil water order.
Due to this event the Tahoe Keys Water Company, the State Water Resources Control Board, the Division of Drinking Water, and the El Dorado County Health Department are advising all Tahoe Keys residents of the precautionary order.
According to the TKPOA website, residents will be informed in writing or by email blast once test results confirm that the water is safe to drink and they are no longer needing to boil water.
"We anticipate receiving the final result of the testing by late afternoon Friday August 28th or sooner and a notice from the State Water Resource Control Board lifting the Boil Water Notice will be issued and TKPOA will provide notice to Property Owners. This notice will be issued by residence delivery, Email Eblast, and posting on the TKPOA website," says the notice on the TKPOA website.
