Family friendly Hoedown at Donner State Park

Enjoy a day of historic fun as the Sierra State Parks Foundation holds a good, old fashioned hoedown at Donner Memorial State Park on Sunday, August 27 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This family friendly free event with costumed docents, special state park interpreters with educational, hands-on activities, food vendors, music and a historical walk. A perfect place for the whole family to not only say goodbye to summer, but to learn about the decorated past of the Truckee-Donner area.
Schedule of events:
11:00 a.m.: Guided History walk: The Stevens-Townsend Party
11:00 a.m.: Wagons Ho Junior Ranger Program for ages 7-12
11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.: Cheri’s Famous Ice Cream and Hot Diggy Dogs!
11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.: Specials in the Park Store
12:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.: Richard Blair music performance: The Sounds of Truckee
1:30 p.m.: Guided history walk: The Donner Party
This event is free for all though parking is $10.
