A celebration of the life of Rick Angelocci will be held in South Lake Tahoe on Sunday, September 10 at Valhalla starting at 2:00 p.m.
When Angelocci died July 6 after a two-year battle with cancer, he wanted his family to host a party and not a memorial, a time where friends and family could come together and laugh, eat, drink and share stories.
Angelocci served the City of South Lake Tahoe as the Assistant City Manager from 2006 to 2011, then became the Loomis (CA) Town Manager for almost six years. He took a leave of absence for health reasons last October. While living in South Lake Tahoe he had also worked for California Tahoe Regional Planning Agency and the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency.
He left behind two daughters, Sarah a student at Santa Barbara City College, and Larissa, a student at San Diego State University.
Angelocci will be remembers as a father, friend, public servant, community advocate, fisherman, golfer, musician, and dancer. He could always be seen on stage during the Father/Daughter dance at his daughters' recitals in South Lake Tahoe.
There will be picnic lunch during his "party" at Valhalla. People are asked to bring a picnic blanket and come enjoy music, stories and the company of friends.
