Operation Vigilance; Law enforcement check for sex offender compliance
Submitted by paula on Thu, 09/11/2014 - 10:51pm
There are 134 registered sex offenders in Douglas County. They were the subject of "Operation Vigilance" which was a joint operation of the Douglas County Sheriffs Office and U.S. Marshals.
They wanted to make sure all those registered were in compliance with Nevada law. Nine of the registered sex offenders were not in compliance, and an investigation is being conducted to determine if prosecution is warranted.
Of the remaining 125, 115 were found to be in compliance and 10 were either deceased, in prison or deported.
