The 3rd Annual Fall Festival and Chili Cookoff was held in South Lake Tahoe on Saturday at the Recreation Center.
Jeanne Prestella of the Beachcomber Inn won $100 as the Judge's favorite in the Chili Cookoff with Niki Congero of the Humane Society coming in second. The other entrants were Bryan Schwartz of Bob Dog Pizza in Meyers and John Fontenelli with his "Bachelor's Kitchen" entry.
Chili judge Howie Nave said he's been in search of the perfect chili so was very happy to sit in and judge. He was joined by Julianne Cavanaugh of Everything Tahoe and Larry Spencer, Commander of the local American Legion.
The Fall Festival had raffles, entertainment, a clown and booths of local vendors, businesses and non-profits as well as the Lake Tahoe Bicycle Coalition's bike valet.
JoAnne Conner, owner of Golden Bear Events who put on the event, said the event was busy and well attended.
