500 elite athletes headed to Lake Tahoe for Spartan Race World Championships

Thirty countries will be represented at the Reebok Spartan Race World Championship, which is the preeminent event of the obstacle racing season, when it returns to Squaw Valley, Lake Tahoe September 28-October 1.
500 elite athletes from more than 30 countries are set to descend on Squaw Valley to put their skills and conditioning to the test in both individual and team competitions, and to celebrate the culmination of the 2017 Spartan Race season.
In just seven years, the Spartan race series - with one million participants in over 200 races - has become the premier competitive endurance race in the world. They run, hike, climb, walk through mud, climb walls, carry weights and much more.
Participants earned their spots in Lake Tahoe during the Spartan Series of races around the world. Some Olympians have been invited by Spartan to also participant.
