From the US National Weather Service in Reno:
A potent low pressure system will create strong winds and critical fire weather conditions on Sunday. Wind advisories and Red Flag Warnings have been issued for much of northeast California and western Nevada for Sunday. Winds will become gusty Sunday morning and afternoon with the strongest winds expected north of Highway 50. Winds will gust to 55 mph across these areas with wind prone areas along highway 395/Interstate 580 reaching gusts up to 65 mph. These winds may create hazardous crosswinds for high profiles vehicles especially along the highway 395/I580 corridor. Areas of blowing dust will also create reduced areas of visibility below 1 mile downwind of dry lake beds and desert areas. Dangerous boating conditions can also be expected across areas lakes.
This low will also bring areas of showers to the Sierra and far northwest Nevada through Monday.
