Small fire burns again in South Lake Tahoe

What is becoming almost a daily occurrence, firefighters in South Lake Tahoe have responded to another fire in the forested area in the outskirts of the city.
On Wednesday, at 2:11 p.m., an El Dorado County Sheriff's deputy spotted smoke and made the first call to 911. The fire started in the area between Lodi Avenue in the Sierra Tract and the Lake Tahoe Airport.
According to the U.S. Forest Service, .18 acre burned. As of 4:00 p.m., there is a full containment line and firefighters remain on the scene.
There was an immediate response by all fire agencies as well and officers from the South Lake Tahoe Police, El Dorado County Sheriff's Offices and U.S. Forest Service.
As with all of the other fires since late summer, the cause of this fire is under investigation. CalFire and USFS teams are working on the investigation portion as most of the fires have occurred on federal land.
