Several law enforcement officers from Northern Nevada and South Lake Tahoe will volunteer their time Thursday by participating in the annual Applebee’s “Tip-A-Cop” fundraiser benefiting Special Olympics Nevada. Officers and deputies will serve during the lunch and dinner-time hours shadowing the restaurant staff as honorary waiters and waitresses. A special envelope will be left at each table for those patrons wishing to donate. This tip is in addition to the normal server’s entitled gratuity and all of the funds collected tomorrow will allow athletes to train and participate in the many diverse sporting events throughout the year.
Volunteer officers from the South Lake Tahoe Police Department and the California Highway Patrol will be at the
South Lake Tahoe Applebee’s, 3987 Lake Tahoe Blvd., during lunch and dinner hours, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
