Home invasion robbery leads to the arrest of three suspected South Lake Tahoe gang members

Three South Lake Tahoe men are sitting in the El Dorado County Jail tonight on charges ranging from participating in a criminal street gang, conspiracy to commit a crime, burglary, robbery to manufacturing a controlled substance.

The charges stem from a home invasion robbery on October 11. Four men forced their way into a home in the Ski Run Blvd area, assaulted the victim and stole personal property. The victim reportedly knew the perpetrators.

While the crime may not be gang related, Lt. David Stevenson of the SLT Police Department said the men involved are allegedly related to, or involved with, known gang members.

Warrants were issued for the arrests of the suspects and on Tuesday, October 14 the South Lake Tahoe Police Department's SWAT Team served the warrants at a home in the 3000 block of Bobby Grey Circle just before 10 p.m. Three men were taken into custody without incident. A fourth, unnamed suspect is still at large.

Arrested were Jose Eduardo Chan, 20, Nathan Michael Garrett, 18 and Anthony Patrick Baltazar, 20. Garrett's bail is set at $170,000, Chan's at $10,000 per charge and Baltazar is at $75,000 per charge.
