A 61-year-old woman was arrested on Friday night after leading South Lake Tahoe police on a chase from Heavenly Village, through city streets and ending on Blackwood Road.
Donna Lorraine Vano was observed driving erratically near Stateline. Police officers followed and pulled her over near Primrose. As they approached the car she drove away. Officers got her to pull over again near Glen Road but she pulled the same stunt.
The chase ended on Blackwood Road when Vano got out of her car after being pulled over again. According to South Lake Tahoe Police Lt. David Stevenson, the suspect hopped out of her car and walked towards officers. She would not respond to their verbal commands so was subdued and arrested.
According to the El Dorado County Jail log, Vano is in jail on charges of evading police with disregard to public safety, DUI, obstruction and battery to emergency personnel. Bail was set at $305,000.
