Season's first winter storm moves into Sierra and Lake Tahoe

UPDATE: 5:28PM: The first winter storm of the season is expected to move into the Sierra and Lake Tahoe Basin Sunday night and early Monday bringing gusty wind, rain and 10 to 18 inches of snow above 7,000 feet and 4 to 8 inches below 7,000 feet. A Winter Storm Warning has been issued through Tuesday morning.
The storm is expected to bring snow to lake level, according to the National Weather Service in Reno. Moderate to heavy snow accumulations are expected in the Eastern Sierra, from Lake Tahoe, north into Western Lassen County and south along the Sierra.
Winds will be from the southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 50 mph. Ridge gusts up to 100 mph. This storm will likely ipact roads and travel over mountain passes. For the latest road conditions go here and here.
