Whittell's football team remains undefeated as they head into playoffs

Much as they've done all season long, the Whittell High School's football time crushed Smith Valley Thursday night, 70-8, on their home turf.
The Warriors scored 42 points in the first quarter, followed by 28 more points before Smith Valley was able to put points on the board.
Whittell wrapped up their season 9-0 overall, 7-0 in league action.
They take the number one seed going into the first round of Division IV 2015 NIAA Football playoffs. Whittell will be looking for revenge as they meet Carlin during the first round, the team that beat them in 2014. The game is November 6 at the Zephyr Cove campus. at 6 p.m. Carlin is 9-1 on the season.
The Whittell men scored 43 touchdowns on the ground this season, led by sophomore Corey Huber's 17 TDs and Dismas Womack's 13. Huber also led the team with 1,840 all purpose yards.
Senior quarterback Colin Buchholz had 50 completions on 77 attempts for 1,229 yards and 12 touchdowns this season. He also ran for 192 yards and 7 touchdowns.
The receiving corps was led by senior Palmer Chaplin who had 7 touchdowns and 321 yards this Fall.
