Another group of locals successfully completed the South Lake Tahoe Citizen's Academy. The graduates were presented with certificates at Tuesday's city council meeting. The 16 graduates are Anita Boel, Brandi Bannister, Brooke Martone-Ballachey, Gia Richards, Greg Carlson, Jennifer Story, Jonathan Moore, Julie Stewart, Karen Kuentz, Mike Allen, Mike Peron, Peter Gochis, Peter Spellman, Rachel Roberts, Scott Fair, and Scott Weavil. Most are pictured here with Mayor Tom Davis.
The academy was created to give community members the opportunity to increase their awareness of local government and learn how to be more involved in the future of South Lake Tahoe. This recent group of graduates completed 6 weeks of training with sessions in city history and organization, parks and recreation, budgets and other financial matters, public works and construction as well as public safety.
