Felon with stolen car and loaded gun arrested by CHP in South Lake Tahoe

The driver of a white Ford sedan who was trying to evade CHP officers in South Lake Tahoe early Tuesday morning ended up booked into the El Dorado County Jail.
Sarah Elizabeth Downey, was observed driving a car matching the description of a vehicle stolen earlier in the officers' shift. The officers made a U-turn to overtake the vehicle but the vehicle immediately made an abrupt turn onto southbound 3rd Street. The vehicle made several turns in an attempt to evade the officers. The vehicle came to a sudden stop in the Matterhorn Hotel parking lot where there is no exit. The Highway Patrol officers approached the car which had Downey and two passengers inside.
Downey was found to be on Felony probation out of Nevada County. A loaded handgun and drug paraphernalia were found after the car was searched.
Downey was arrested at the scene and later booked into the El Dorado County Jail.
