Four South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue personnel are headed to the growing Camp Fire in Butte County. They are filling an immediate request for help and Engine 3 from south Lake Tahoe will be part of a Strike Team.
Captain Tyler Jack, Engineer Steven Monday, Firefighter/Paramedic Scott Blasser and Firefighter James Berthinier will be on the team.
The fire was first reported at 6:33 a.m. on Wednesday, November 8. In the first three hours the fire grew to 5,000 acres. The Butte County Sheriff's office says multiple evacuation orders have been issued for areas of Paradise, a town east of Chico, as well as outlying areas in the Feather River Canyon east of Highway 70.
There is a Red Flag warning in in effect for area with strong winds and low relative humidity, both of which are not helpful when fighting a fire.
