Breathtaking video footage of adventure thrill seekers as they ski, bike, jump, climb and surf around the world will be featured at the 13th Annual Tahoe Adventure Film Festival on Saturday, December 13.
MontBleu Resort & Spa is hosting the madcap on-screen adventure films and non-stop, on-stage party action. There is not just one movie on the screen, but a series of 10-12 minute clips from the industry's best videographers.
The high energy night isn't just a movie, but an event. The show begins the minute the doors open at 6:30 p.m. Dramatic action photography from Aurora Photos flashes on the big screen while go-go dancers and a deejay pump up the crowd.
Designed to capture the intensity and passion of free-spirited outdoor adventure, the cult event provides mountaintop cliffhangers and enough high-energy entertainment between showings to ignite fervor for the New Year.
"This is one night to see the progression in the best action and adventure sports films of the year and learn about new developing sports," says Todd Offenbacher, founder and event host, world adventurer and popular host for Outside Television. "We put together a line-up of the best films of the year from around the world and showcase them in one night of energy, excitement and fun that appeals to all audiences."
The film festival recognizes one athlete or filmmaker every year with a Golden Camalot Award.
The "camalot" is a caming devise made by Black Diamond Equipment and is used to protect climbers. The camalot has saved countless lives in the mountains around the world. The Golden Camalot is awarded with the highest respect to leaders in action and adventure sports for excellence, achievement, and leadership. The award is hand crafted completely with 18 caret gold, weighs almost 4 pounds, and is delivered the night of the festival by Brinks Security guards.
Tickets are $20 and $25 in advance and $25 to $30 the night of the show, plus fees. Available at the Box Office and Ticketmaster.com.
