El Dorado County certifies election, final counts in for all races

Twenty-one days after the election, the final results have now been certified by the El Dorado County elections department.

The closest race was for the three open seats for South Lake Tahoe City Council. The top vote getter was long time local Wendy David who had 18.05 % of the vote with 1727 residents feeling confident she'd represent them well. Coming in second was incumbent Tom Davis who received 1461 votes, or 15.52% of the vote. Austin Sass moved ahead of incumbent Angela Swanson and ended up with 1318 votes to Swanson's 1289, just .31% difference.

Brooke Laine, the other incumbent in the race, already said goodby during the last City Council meeting. She ended up with 1246 votes, 13.24% of the count.

Wrapping up the race were newcomer Matt Palacio with 1218 votes and Bruce Grego with 1126 votes.

Sue Novasel is the new County Supervisor representing South Lake Tahoe, Meeks Bay and Pollock Pines. She had 60.03% of the vote, beating Kenny Curtwiler by 1662 votes.

The other close race was for LTCC Board of Trustee race for Area 5. Michelle Sweeney won with 50.92% of the vote, just edging out Bob Grant by 33 votes.

All other area election outcomes are the same as they were on election night.
LTCC's Measure F won with 57.80% of the vote. Duane Wallace won a seat on the South Tahoe Public Utility District and Jim Jones is returning to their board.

City Clerk Susan Alessi and City Treasurer David Olivo both ran unopposed and retain their positions.
