Law enforcement responding to several accidents Saturday evening

12:00 a.m. update 11/27/16: Chain controls have lowered to Sly Park Road in Pollock Pines, heading eastward to Meyers on Highway 50. Chains or traction devices are required on all vehicles except four wheel / all wheel drive vehicles with snow treaded tires on all wheels.
SR 89 northbound: Chains or traction devices are required on all vehicles except four wheel / all wheel drive vehicles with snow treaded tires on all wheels.
SR 89 southbound: Chains or traction devices are required on all vehicles except four wheel / all wheel drive vehicles with snow treaded tires on all wheels over Luther Pass.
CHP is cleaning up a head-on collision near Kirkwood which sent two people with minor injuries to Barton.
Chains or Snow Tires Required over Kingsbury Grade/SR 207, Spooner Summit/ Hwy 50 and Highway 50 on the Douglas County side of Lake Tahoe.

Unprepared drivers dealing with a winter storm hitting the Lake Tahoe Basin have caused several delays and accidents on roads around the South Shore.
South Lake Tahoe Police Department and California Highway Patrol are being kept busy along with the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office.
At 4:23 p.m., CHP responded to two-car accident near Emerald Bay on Hwy 89.
At 4:28 p.m., a car stuck in the roadway near the intersection of Mandan and Pioneer Trail caused issues with others coming upon the disabled Chevy Camero. A Honda Pilot and Honda Protegee also got stuck and all three had to be towed out.
At 4:31 p.m., a Honda attempting to go up Highway 50 without chains near North Upper Truckee Road got stuck.
At 4:36 p.m., a two car collision occurred near Country Club Dr and Highway 50.
At 4:45 p.m., CHP responded to a single car accident on Saddle Road. A white 4-Runner ended up on its roof and there were injuries to the occupants.
At 4:56 p.m., CHP was working with a three-vehicle accident on Highway 50 near Old Meyers Grade before the summit.
At 5:28 p.m., CHP responded a vehicle who went into a guard rail and another into a snowbank on Highway 89 near Meeks Bay.
As of 5:50 p.m., traffic is moving in both directions on Echo Summit.
Chain controls are up on Highway 50 from Sand Flat and Meyers: Chains or traction devices are required on all vehicles except four wheel / all wheel drive vehicles with snow treaded tires on all wheels.
Chains or traction devices are required on all vehicles except four wheel / all wheel drive vehicles with snow treaded tires on all wheels on Hwy 89 from Christmas Valley over Luther Pass, and around Emerald Bay.
