New company in town, Tahoe Lights, here to put up your Christmas decor

Enjoy the beauty of Christmas lights but hate the hassle of untangling cords, climbing ladders and replacing bulbs? A new Lake Tahoe business is in town to relieve you of those duties, and they store them until next year too!

Tahoe Lights is the brainchild of Savannah Jackson. She had five successful seasons in Mammoth Lakes and wanted to expand her magic to the Lake Tahoe Basin.

"We've been well received in the community,” said Jackson. “Our customers confirm their decorated businesses get more attention and our team will take care of all the details so you can enjoy the holiday spirit. Everyone loves holiday lights!”

Jackson and her Tahoe Lights team do everything for the home or business owner in their outdoor light show. The owners work with Jackson on the design and she orders the lights, splices the wires so the decorations are a tight fit, and add on a timer so the owner doesn't even have to flip a switch every night. They will replace bulbs and fix anything that falls after a storm at no extra charge. Clients have a choice of LED lights, incandescent, or a new glass over LED that makes them more appealing.

"Lights bring out the wonder in all of us and we can enliven your home or business to create an amazing new look this holiday season," said Jackson.

Faced with lack of steady business during the recession in Mammoth Lakes, Jackson looked for something to do that would allow her to stay in the mountain town. During a trip to her hometown of Portland, Ore., she talked to a friend who put up Christmas lights there. She returned to California and started studying and researching the business, got training, and opened "Hang 'Em High" in 2010.

Jackson also owns "Elevates Equine." She is a horse physiotherapist and has many clients in the Bay Area. She also teaches the techniques through clinics and found living in South Lake Tahoe puts her close to all of her loves: Mammoth, horses, and Lake Tahoe.

She didn't leave her Mammoth clients "in the dark" by relocating, she kept her staff there to help with all of their light needs.

Prior to starting her lights and horse business, Jackson was a muralist in Los Angeles. She said the Christmas lights business allows her to keep her creative side busy.

At the end of the season, Jackson and her team will label the lights and store them in their warehouse, so the client doesn't have to worry about storage, or tangled wires again. They can also change the color scheme next year at no cost.
