Heavenly, Northstar, and Kirkwood respond to California's Stay-at-Home order

California has permitted ski resorts to continue to operate under our state-approved winter operating plans as outdoor recreation has been identified as an important outlet for personal health and wellness. Heavenly Mountain Resort, Northstar California Resort and Kirkwood Mountain Resort will remain open for skiing and riding during California’s Regional Stay at Home Order.
To support our local and state efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19, and to prioritize the health of our entire community, we will continue to follow all guidelines from state and local health officials. Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood each require face coverings to access the mountain and in all parts of their operations and are also managing access to resorts through a reservation system to allow for physical distancing. Face coverings should follow CDC guidelines with two or more layers of fabric that completely cover the nose and mouth, and should not have vents, valves or holes.
The Regional Stay at Home Order prohibits hotels and lodging entities from accepting or honoring any reservations except those related to critical infrastructure support. Per the state, the Order will remain in effect for at least three weeks and, after that period, will be lifted when a region’s projected ICU capacity meets or exceeds 15 percent. Guests will be contacted if their lodging stay falls within the period of the current order, and no reservations can be made during this time.
California has permitted on-mountain takeout food options. There will be no indoor seating, and restrooms will be open with limited capacity. Guests are encouraged to bring their own water, food and snacks. There will be very limited outdoor seating for guests to rest and replenish and will be setup to accommodate physical distancing.
We understand the benefits and importance of recreating outside during challenging times like these. Our reservation system allows us to provide our guests access to the mountain while we have the flexibility to quickly adjust based on changing guidelines.
We encourage our guests to follow all state and local guidelines on essential travel and to stay home if they are sick or experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19.
With rapidly changing public health orders, guests should know and follow all current state and local COVID-19 guidelines. For state guidelines, visit https://covid19.ca.gov/stay-home-except-for-essential-needs/#regional-stay-home-order
