PDATE 10:15PM: Carson City Sheriff's deputies have arrived at the disabled Polar Express train and passengers are now being taken off the railroad cars to meet up with JAC and Virginia City shuttle buses, said Carson City Sheriff's Sgt. Scott McDaniel.
"There's lots of kids, lots of adults and they are in good spirits," said McDaniel of the effort. The diesel train stalled after 8 p.m. north of Linehan Road in Lyon County. No injuries were reported. There's upwards of 240 passengers on the train.
A rescue unit from Lyon County was called to assist one of the passengers, according to dispatch.

The Polar Express train broke down Friday night north of Highway 50 and several miles from the main depot with 240 passengers aboard, according to Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.
Deputies are responding to the scene near Linehan Road and buses will be deployed once the train is found in order to ferry the passengers back to the depot, said Furlong.
It is believed that the passengers aboard are safe and that it was the engine that has stalled, said Furlong.
