The South Lake Tahoe City Council will be holding a special meeting on Friday, December 27 at 10:30 a.m. to discuss the hiring of an interim city manager.
Current City Manager Frank Rush gave his notice to the Council on November 26 after accepting a position in Big Bear Lake, Calif. His last day with the City will be on January 24, 2020.
During the last City Council meeting, Rush explained that he had not been seeking a new job to replace the one he'd held for less than a year when a head hunter called him. He and his family will be relocating and he is slated to start that job on February 3.
After the former City Manager Nancy Kerry resigned in March 2018, her old position was held by a couple of people before the hiring of Rush. Former Fire Chief Jeff Meston assumed both duties until the City hired Dirk Brazil as the interim June 5 of that year.
It is unknown who might hold the interim position this time and it should be decided Friday.
