The Lake Tahoe Historical Society is holding its next Fireside Chat at the historic Camp Richardson Hotel on Tuesday, October 22 at 7:00 p.m. The speaker that evening will be author David Woodruff. His presentation will be "Tales Along El Camino Sierra, A Sentimental Journey along Highway 395," the topic of two of his books.
Fireside Chats are held in the lobby in front of their fireplace.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Lake Tahoe Historical Society is resuming their Fireside Chat series on Tuesday, September 24 at 7:00 p.m. when author Gregory Crouch comes to town.
The popular Fireside Chats are held in the lobby of the historic Camp Richardson Hotel on Emerald Bay Road.
Crouch will be presenting his newest book, The Bonanza King: John Mackay and the Battle over the Greatest Riches in the American West.

The Lake Tahoe Historical Society is hosting one of their popular Fireside Chats on Tuesday, May 28 with speaker Jerry Blackwill presenting the Construction of the Transcontinental Railroad. Join them by the fireplace at the historic Camp Richardson Hotel at 7:00 p.m.
Blackwill is the president of the Truckee Donner Railroad Society.

Besides the group's Fall General Meeting, speaker and author Carol Van Etten will present a visual history of steamships on Lake Tahoe. She has been a lifelong student of Lake Tahoe history, as well as boats on the lake, and has published three books on marine history.

Two long time community members will share their tales of the history of South Lake Tahoe during the next Fireside Chat on Wednesday, July 15 at 7 p.m.
Roberta Mason will be talking about “How and Why Higher Education Made Its
Way to the South Shore.” Mason was instrumental in bringing Lake Tahoe Community College to town and was a long time member of their Board of Trustees.
Tom Davis will be sharing tales of “How Three Went Out and One Came Back – Boating on Lake Tahoe” and stories of celebrity entertainers who have visited the south shore.

Learn about Lake Tahoe history through the photos and words of Bill Kingman when he presents "Then & Now" at the first Fireside Chat of the year.
The Lake Tahoe Historical Society is planning a series of such chats all spring and summer. The first one will be held on Tuesday, April 14 at 7 p.m. in the Lodge at Camp Richardson.
The cost is $3 for non-members and free for members. Seating is limited.
