The inaugural Kiwanis Community Fair will treat attendees to a full-sized carnival including games, a 40-foot Ferris Wheel, the Tornado Ride, Bumper Cars and lots of family fun this weekend at the California Base Lodge parking lot of Heavenly Mountain Resort.
There will be good old fashioned fair excitement with a pine cone race and competitions for preserves, flowers, art and cooking. and competitions for preserves, flowers, art and chefs! Enjoy funnel cakes and lots of vendors. All benefits go to local non-profits who serve the children and families of South Lake Tahoe.

February 15, 2013 (All day) I am sure glad I live here and not down there where there is such a big stink about a dad who took a DOJ helicopter and dropped the homecoming football to the team from the air. Where else can you go anywhere and have Santa dropped of in the Calstar helicopter at the Meyers Christmas Tree lighting or have the high school homecoming game ball delivered by Calstar?
I would gladly pay for that as I know others would also.
Burning Man pre-registration tickets on sale Wednesday through Sunday

According to the official Burning Man website, organizers say they've come up with a ticket sales plan to meet the needs of the "greatest number of people possible," given that there is a limited supply available.

South Lake Tahoe man faces federal fraud charges; allegedly skied and collected workers compensation

Leung, 58, of South Lake Tahoe, charging him with wire fraud, mail fraud, and making a false statement to obtain federal workers’ compensation, United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced.
Raley's and union reach deal to end strike

The announcement from Raley's came after a marathon negotiating session in San Francisco that went all night and into the morning.

The Tahoe Transportation District will host its second public workshop to discuss the US 50, Lake Tahoe South Shore Community Revitalization project, Wednesday, November 7, at Embassy Suites from 1-3 p.m.

The Highway 50 accident, reported at 3:13 Monday afternoon near Logan Creek on the East Shore of Lake Tahoe, shut down traffic in the eastbound lane. Traffic, as of 5 p.m. continued to be diverted to the westbound lane, said NHP Trooper Barbara Stapleton.
