Combining the world's best musicians with the world's best snow conditions, the 2012 SnowGlobe Festival in South Lake Tahoe is a one-of-a-kind experience that offers the ultimate fusion: music and mountains.
The second SnowGlobe Music Festival will be held on the Lake Tahoe Community College campus in South Lake Tahoe over three days, Dec. 29-31, 2012.
Heavenly Holidays at Heavenly Village Lake Tahoe

It all starts December 15 and culminates Dec. 31 with A Heavenly New Year’s Celebration including ice sculptors, live music, fire dancers and a 9:00pm ball drop and fireworks show.

Kirkwood opens 40th season with four feet of snow
Submitted by Editor on Fri, 11/16/2012 - 10:50amKirkwood Mountain Resort opened its 40th anniversary season when the lifts began turning at 9 a.m. Friday, five days earlier than its originally-scheduled opening day. Kirkwood opened with one chairlift and five trails, accessing 40 total acres.
“The last two storms that have rolled through the Sierra have dropped a combined four feet of snow at Kirkwood, allowing us to open early for all our passionate skiers and riders,” said Casey Blann, general manager of Kirkwood. “This will be a great start to the 40th anniversary season at Kirkwood, and the first with Vail Resorts.”

Heavenly and Northstar will open on Wednesday, Nov. 14 with a combined seven lifts and eight trails, totaling 51 acres.

“For these past 50 years you could say that I ‘Get Around,’ laughed Mike Love, lead singer and co-owner of the Beach Boys. “With the music I created along with the other Beach Boys it has taken me all over the world. If you ask me it’s pretty cool that thanks to the efforts of a whole lot of good people I get a Roundabout – it’s beautiful.”

Free Concert at the Hempen' Inn this Sunday

On August 21 of this year, Adam was riding his bicycle and was struck by an alleged drunk driver at 12th Street and Emerald Bay Road. He was care-flighted to Reno, was in critical condition for approximately two weeks and is now recuperating at home. Both Adam's arms and legs were broken and he is currently confined to a wheelchair. He faces over six months of rehabillitation. He will be present at the event.

RHAA office opens in South Lake Tahoe

Mr. Long and RHAA teamed together on the El Dorado Beach project at Lakeview Commons that opened June 20. Lakeview Commons’ rejuvenated waterfront with terraced seating was designed to enhance the natural beauty of the area and now serves as a great gathering space for water sports, live music or just enjoying the beautiful scenery.
