El Dorado County senior nutrition program offers drive-up meal service

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. - With the Governor’s orders to stay-at-home and older adults in the high-risk group for COVID-19, the El Dorado County Senior Nutrition program has made some adjustments to its program.
The South Lake Tahoe Senior Center, along with others in the county are offering drive-up "Take-Out" meals for all El Dorado County residents age 60 and older. This gives its older adult clients the needed hearty and nutritional meals in a safe environment.
Volunteers needed in South Lake Tahoe for home delivered meal program

The El Dorado County Senior Nutrition Program is currently looking for dedicated, caring volunteers for the Home Delivered Meal program in South Lake Tahoe. Each volunteer generally works one day a week on an assigned route, delivering meals between 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to older adults in the community who have become more homebound due to health or other reasons. The meals are prepared in advance by the Senior Nutrition program and volunteers deliver those meals.

December 20, 2016 (All day) There will be three presentations at the next El Dorado County Board of Supervisors meeting on June 20 that pertain to fiscal year 2017-18 budget. They are required to approve it by June 30 each year.
"Every year, the County’s Chief Administrator provides a Recommended Budget to the Board of Supervisors for their consideration," said Chief Administrative Officer, Don Ashton. "It is but one step along the path to having an Adopted Budget approved by the Board in September.”
Presentations are scheduled as follows:

Volunteer drivers needed for Senior Meal Program

September 29, 2016 - 10:00am The El Dorado County Senior Nutrition Program greatly needs dedicated, caring volunteers to help deliver lunchtime meals to homebound seniors. Volunteers work one day a week, delivering meals between 10:30 a.m. and noon.
An orientation session for new volunteer drivers is scheduled for Thursday, September 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Senior Center, 3050 South Lake Tahoe Boulevard, in the dining room.

The El Dorado County Senior Nutrition Program is currently looking for dedicated, caring volunteers in South Lake Tahoe to deliver meals to homebound senior citizens in the Tahoe Basin.
"We currently have a critical need for drivers in the Senior Nutrition Program in South Lake Tahoe," said Ruth Green, Program Coordinator for the Senior Nutrition Program. "We greatly appreciate the valuable service our volunteers provide! Without our volunteers many of the senior programs in our county would not be possible."

Supervisor Sue Novasel, Lake Tahoe’s representative on the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors, announced the formation of an ad hoc committee that will engage a visioning process related to future development and use of County-owned properties and facilities in South Lake Tahoe. The vision committee will join with two members of the City Council and staff in collaborating toward mutual facility goals.
