The El Dorado County Senior Nutrition Program in South Lake Tahoe continues to have a great need for community volunteer drivers to help deliver lunchtime meals to homebound seniors and other vulnerable people. The meals are prepared by the Senior Nutrition Program and the volunteers deliver those meals.
Volunteers are asked to help one day a week. Drivers will pick up the meals at the senior center at 10:30 a.m. Delivery takes about one hour and volunteers may be compensated for a portion of mileage. This is a great opportunity for community groups, organizations or just a bunch of friends.
This important program helps some of our county's most vulnerable people get a nutritious meal and see a friendly face.
For additional information about this volunteer opportunity, call the Senior Nutrition Program at (530) 621-6160. The Senior Center is located at 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd. in South Lake Tahoe.
