Coldwell Banker Select Real Estate in conjunction with Stanford Mortgage and First American Title Company had a tremendous turnout for their recent Luxury Home Tour event in the Reno area. REALTORS® and other Real Estate Professionals were invited to go on a tour of four luxury Coldwell Banker listings and to gain insight into the world of luxury home sales. The tour was organized by Melanie Stewart, Director of Luxury Marketing and spearheaded by Dena Hospodka, Managing Broker for Coldwell Banker Select.

My daughter and I had been planning our annual Apple Hill trek for several days when I decided to change it up a bit. Since my free time is so rare I figured why not include a visit to our favorite little town Sutter Creek? And then, since we're doing that, might as well throw in a drive down beautiful Highway 4! Since the portion of the road we'll be covering is closed after the first big snow we had to do it! The day was plotted on a map in my head with some verification on google maps. The map said our little trip was going to take 5 hours and 10 minutes and cover 225 miles.

Jack Durst of Fabulous Lake Tahoe brought out his camera and interviewing skills to the third annual Tahoe Expo geotourism event this weekend at Lakeview Commons in South Lake Tahoe. The event is designed for Lake Tahoe to show its environmentally-friendly side by promoting healthy, fun activities such as biking, hiking, paddleboarding, kayaking and more.

The event featured Stand Up Paddle Yoga, an electric bike tour, information on preserving Tahoe's water quality, and a demonstration of Native American music and culture from the Washoe tribe.

Double neck guitar phenomenon Ian Ethan Case will play a fundraising concert for STHS music on September 12th at the South Tahoe High Theater. Show time is 6 pm. Come and see this extraordinary and creative artist as he visits the West Coast for the first time in years. He's taking a day off of his tour to help out the school's music program. The show is $10 and tickets are available at the door.

Geotours of the Lake Tahoe basin will highlight environmentally friendly activities during the Tahoe Geotourism Expo held September 7 - 8, 2013. Since its conception in 2010, the Labor Day weekend's Sample the Sierra has continued to grow and evolve. Beginning as a one-day South Lake Tahoe street festival, the event has expanded into an entire weekend of festivities celebrating the bounty and heritage of the Sierra Nevada region.

Former U.S. Vice-President Al Gore said, in his speech to scientists, elected officials, environmentalists, business leaders, fire department officials, students and others in the audience of the 2013 Lake Tahoe Summit, that what we’ve learned at Tahoe can help inform the rest of the world to protect their resources and communities.

There will be a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at South Tahoe High to celebrate the newly completed Sports Medicine Building on Friday, August 23 at 10 am. The public is invited to attend and tour all of the new buildings. Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers featuring Edie Brickell will bring a blend of music and comedy to the MontBleu Resort Casino and Spa at Lake Tahoe stage for one-night only, Saturday, Oct. 5.

On the second leg of a successful North American tour, the show combines bluegrass music, heavy on the banjo, with dashes of Martin's comedy genius. The show begins at 9 p.m. Tickets are $60 to $80 and available through Ticketmaster.com or the MontBleu Box Office, 888-829-7630.

World and reggae greats Rebelution and Matisyahu will bring their Island-fused rock, spirited jams and blissful irie grooves to Lake Tahoe Wednesday, Aug. 21, at the MontBleu Outdoor Events Center.

Heavenly Mountain Resort at Lake Tahoe has submitted a proposal to the USDA Forest Service and Tahoe Regional Planning Agency for expansions to its on-mountain summer activities, as part of Vail Resorts’ Epic Discovery, a Summer Mountain Adventure.

The Lake Tahoe Historical Society will again present one of South Lake Tahoe’s most unique fundraising events at the 10th Annual Garden Tour on Saturday, July 27 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. This year’s event will showcase the new gardens, fountains and tree carvings at Barton Memorial Hospital as well as 9 other stunning gardens around the community.

The City of South Lake Tahoe’s Parks and Recreation Department invites residents to its inaugural Spring into Summer event on Saturday, June 1, from 10 a.m., to 2 p.m.
