Food and wine highlight Taste of Gold fundraiser for Lake Tahoe Community College

Event Date:
July 13, 2013 - 6:00pm

The Lake Tahoe Community College Foundation’s second annual Taste of Gold fundraiser will be Saturday, July 13 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the College’s Ledbetter Terrace and Demonstration Garden.

It’s the biggest fundraiser of the year for the LTCC Foundation, with proceeds going directly to support academic programs and student scholarships and achievement.

Guests can sample delicious wines from a number of featured El Dorado County wineries, including Colibri Ridge, Lava Cap, and Nello Olivo. Fans of small-batch microbrews can cool off with tasty selections from several regional breweries. Some of the best cuisine from the Lake Tahoe Basin will also be featured, with tastings from Sushi Pier, Cork & More, Exquisite Grill, Nikki’s Chaat Café, Flight Deck, and many more popular Tahoe eateries and caterers.

There will also be a fabulous silent auction and raffle opportunities, including a chance to win a private sailboat
excursion to Emerald Bay.

This year’s Taste of Gold event will feature many old favorites, but there are also some new additions to the lineup. Topping the list is comedian and stunt juggler Michael Goudeau, a performer with the Lance Burton Show in Las Vegas for 20 years and Emmy nominated writer/executive producer of Penn & Teller’s Showtime hit, “Bulls**t!” Mr. Goudeau will act as Master of Ceremonies and will also perform some of the wacky (and semi-dangerous) juggling stunts he’s known for.

Also performing will be a quartet from the TOCCATA Tahoe Symphony Orchestra, playing selections from their Summer MusicFest concert series.

All of this great food, wine, and entertainment will be offered in the gorgeous Ledbetter Terrace and Demonstration Garden at the College, making for a perfect summer evening. And it’s all for a great cause –proceeds from the sale of Taste of Gold tickets go to support student success and academic programs at the
college.

Tickets are $75 per person, and can be purchased by contacting Marty Green at (530) 541-4660 ext. 753, or by emailing Marty at FoundationAssistant@ltcc.edu. Go here for more information.
